I wonder if this is really a problem. Most people S&P at a slower rate. I'm
amazed at how well the superfast stations can and do copy, getting most calls
the first time. Besides, this seems to be a successful technique -- using less
time to get your CQ out on the air. Haven't you ever cringed at a needed
multiplier running at 13 wpm and waiting forever to work him? Or, rare DX
running at only about 25-30 wpm and hundreds of stations answering at
13 wpm, and oftentimes right on top of him? It seems to be an unconcious
assumption of cw operators that nobody can copy any faster than they can
send. And this is not true.
Even the best of operators miss calls and ask for repeats.
