Had problems with sending/receiving reflector mail since last Friday, so
am resending; disregard if you have already seen it. This is around the
fifth attempt to get this on the reflector.
Stopped by the PO box on the way home from the airport, after spending 3
days in eastern Ohio. Found a stack of QSL cards from the bureau and the
latest QST. Not sure when this arrived at the post office, but AES in
Wickliffe, OH, did not have them on the shelf Wednesday morning.
Front cover photo of some phased 15 Meter verticals on a beach in Flordia
[camoflaged to look like sail boats :-)].

Saw the new movie "Contact" this week. It had a good portrayal of a
young ham operator; may even have been a budding contester. After
calling CQ unsuccessfully, the heroine said "I need a better antenna".
The next scene was her standing on the edge of the Aericebo (sp?), PR,
1000 ft dish! Never did see what antenna she was using before; however,
there was one of those BX towers in the background of one scene. Rig
looked like a Collins transceiver and they used 1x3 calls. Anyhow, Good
Movie! Highly recommended!
