Keep in mind that some people are using a real time
database which includes last year's check.
In communications theory, accuracy is improved if
you have prior knowledge of what the data content
should be. There is probably a slight advantage if
everyone uses the same check every year. It's
just like the default 599 in other contests.
By the way, if somebody copies my callsign wrong,
I'll do my best to correct him. If he still has
it wrong, it's his tough luck. I'm not going to
scratch the contact out of the log (unless it's
the Internet Sprint, which has a special rule
penalizing the sending station for miscopied data.)
The log-checkers will see exactly what happened and
treat it appropriately.
