Hey, give him a break yourself. Not all of us here have big stations
with monobanders and Alpha amps, and get our pictures on magazine ads
and covers. Some of us even use the contest as a good reason to boost
our DXCC levels. And that VR2 station might be the only one he or I
will ever contact. Getting a QSL from it is just as important for us as
winning QRO or QRP is to you. And his post DID have something to do
with the contest operation, so I don't feel it's out of line, nor do I
disagree with his logic and sentiments. And last time I checked, it was
a constitutional right to express one's own opinion in this country.
Don't like it...don't read it. Or move to VR2.
After spending over 2 grand on a radio and a triander, I guess I can
afford QSL-ing as well. And yes, I have operated from DX and have been
hit with the onslaught of QSL's that follow...no problem.
Flame away...I got my Nomex suit on.
Wally / KT1M (who has also contacted only one VR2 station in the last 7
years, but fortunately it was not the guy in question here and I did get
a QSL).
