I'm arriving at the Dayton Airport at 10:30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.
Anyone out there arriving about the same time who might be able to give me a
lift downtown, ideally to the Crowne Plaza?.
Alternatively, what is the best way to get downtown from the airport? Is
there a Crowne Plaza Hotel Shuttle? Taxi? Just want an idea what to
expect.
Thanks.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Busted calls, SCP and technology
No one complains about a law that is never enforced. No one complains about
a
dress code regarding clothes that are no longer in style. It's when these
are substantially enforced in current situations that one will hear
complaints.
In one sense, going back a few years, contest penalties were at least
partially unenforceable because computer logs were just getting going, and
the contest committees had to concentrate their attention on the big scores.
More so this for ARRL, less so for the CQ contests. In either case, the
[frequently volunteer] effort to police the logs was (and remains) enormous.
Is a miscopied call a violation, or a mistake? Note the persistence of law
enforcement terms in use describing elements of a radio sport that is
supposed to be great fun.
A batter is out, not convicted. Hits outside the line are foul balls. Runs,
once on the board, are not taken away. Hockey has a penalty box for
dangerous conduct, many examples of physical harm for high sticking, cross
checking, etc. Soccer has penalty shots for dangerous behaviour. American
football *does* have penalties for everything. But it also has the extra
point, a (gasp) bonus. Basketball has the one and one foul shot, the second
called a bonus shot.
Anything dangerous in the SS besides plopping down on one of the eternal net
frequencies on 75 SSB or TVI-ing the neighbor's set during an important
game?
Would replacing some penalties with a two-way accuracy bonus be all that
outrageous?
