In SS CW, somebody sent me 3AA, and I was supposed to figure out that it meant 31A! This is in a contest where logging accuracy is critical. Other than 5NN, cut numbers are nuts. Another bad idea is a bunch of leading zeros before a serial number. When signals are weak it's difficult to tell if they are really zeros or some significant digit.
