Hi Jorge
With computer logging, there is NO problem working dupes. They should be
left in your log. Penalties for working dupes are from the paper log days
and no longer apply.
There are a few things to consider: Two guys are calling CQ close in
frequency. Someone throws their call in, and both CQing station think they
are being called/send an exchange. At this point, someone is going to end
up with a NOT IN LOG penalty. Later on, the same guy finds you, and gets a
"QSO B4 message". He *needs* you for a mult, and you insist you already had
a QSO... You waste more time trying to make him go away, and he wastes time
trying to work you.
There are many variations - everything from a mis-copied call, a missed
exchange, whatever, and he really NEEDS a second QSO. With computer
logging, he already know its a dupe. Quicker to just work the dupe, and
move on.
