[CQ-Contest] if a station submits a log with a different class ification versus what they gave over the air

This question came up at a recent meeting
about someone that had entered in "A" but decided when sending in the log to
enter it as "M"

If a station changes their classification
after the contest and during that contest gave the exchange reflecting a
different class

How does that impact the stations entry   is it a check log ?

How does it impact those that copied the exchange they gave on the air ?

iow in ARRL SS the precedence given during the WHOLE  contest was "A"
but they turned their log in as "M"
