Would someone please direct me to the Amateur Radio contest forum? I seem
to be stuck in the Amateur Lawyer reflector.
Here's a rule for you, Doug.
"Everything not specifically prohibited is mandatory."

Subject: [CQ-Contest] WHAT'S THE POINT...OMG...did anybody actually read
thepost?
I am dumbfounded.
The POINT (for me) is that the rules need to be CLEAR.
Currently, (for me and obviously for many others), they are NOT clear.
THE POINT IS...the rules need to be accurate, precise, and clear, especially
with
consideration to non-native English speakers.
I don't CARE what the rules define, as long as they are CLEAR, WELL DEFINED,
UNAMBIGUOUS,
EASILY UNDERSTOOD, and TRANSLATABLE.
The RULES (for all contests) must consider what is construed as "normal"
across many
cultures. Repeating my prior example, is 1500 watts output measured at the
rig or at
the antenna? That is not defined, but MUST be defined. There are many such
areas.
Hope everybody has a FUN time in the CQWW SSB contest, while always engaging
in
FAIR PLAY.
