I wonder if Charly, HS0ZCW ever tried PSK on HF? These are often inaudible signals barely visible on waterfall with perfect error-free print! WSJT EME is even better case. Beware of human limitations. Pilots are trained to fly by instruments! Absolute limitations on SDR is ADC overflow level which is around 1 mW. Your contest kW kill them unless good frontend bandpass filters are used. Fortunately lot of signals are amplitude modulated.
