"Maybe the soil here in the Wisconsin is acidic. a pop can is mush in no time when exposed to dirt." Joe is correct, be careful. I learned the hard way as a high school student in Wisconsin. I put down an extensive radial system using aluminum fence wire and within a year it was falling apart.
