Comments so far consistent with chatter seen in the past. Going somewhere without the resources we are accustomed to here, whereas over there is somewhat challenging in terms of cost & getting stuff in. So I suspect I need to work with what is there & what I can bring with me. For the price of a Honda, I could have two of something else (read: complete set of spares) & enough leftover for a line filter that despite specs will apparently do nothing.
Luckily, it looks like have found an old-school Robin to borrow & for
filtering the nature-of-beast noise with them just needs sacks to fill
with sand which is available in abundance over there. Success is also
nearly certain.
An acquaintance here has a Honda 1 kW inverter generator that will not
start, perhaps can see if I can find anything in my collection of
mystery torroids that will help after getting it running again for him.
Longer term, I suspect I will end up getting some sort of inverter
generator of my own to keep over there & expect in practice that none
will be quiet enough RF-wise as from the all the chatter about it seems
that conducted emissions standards aren't good enough for this sort of
application.
