Calling it a contest and allowing the WARC bands was a forgivable error. All
it would have taken is one authoritative figure (like W3LPL) to suggest
privately to the SEDXC to change it from "contest" to "event" and the problem
would have been solved. No fuss.

I’m all for more activity on all the bands.
But this “operating event” was initially promoted as a contest.
Contesting... formal, organized, sponsored contests.. due not belong on the
WARC bands, at the present time, nor for the foreseeable future. Period
Objecting to a bad decision is not “over reacting.”
Fortunately, the decision was corrected in time, and from what I observed, a
good time was had by all. And isn’t that what’s important?
