It is always exciting and fun to learn something new about contesting! I don't
get out much
and live a socially isolated life (at least from other contesters)
I just found out about X-QSO, a post contest "log washing" program that can be
run after the
contest has ended, to remove QSO's that might have been made in violation of
the various
M/S and M/2 rules that differ from contest to contest. This avoids a big
penalty for the multi
station (just one lost Q) but results in a not-in-log for the station they
worked!
I often have looked at my not-in-log (NIL) reductions after big contests and
wondered about
the NIL's from big time multi's. Certainly they had called me while I was
CQing, what was going
on? Now I know! A CQing station and 3 in band stations might make a mistake now
and then.
Good sportsmanship all around!
Real time contesting, continuous scoreboard posting, and log submission at
regular intervals
DURING the contest are the solutions. A mega thank you to the developers of
these technologies!
