Is is probable that the radio manufacturers used
only brushless fans or have taken other means to
assure that noise is not generated by the fans
they selected?

I'd hate to install several of these around the
house only to discover that they start generating
buzzing and crackling as they age and the moisture
they are venting gets into them.

Is there a list that discusses weak signal operations?

I'd love to learn more. As a kid I used to listen to
SW and Hams on an old tabletop AM-BC/SW radio and after
that a Halli SX-99 so I learned to pick weak QSO's out
of the noise and still enjoy the challenge.
