Hi, Bob--

You seem very upset in a way that is usually only associated when someone's
religion or politics is attacked. I don't think ANY of the issues
you mentioned,
abortion, Iraq, Bush, etc were mentioned during this discussion so I
don't understand
your comment, or even your need to lambast the reflector and the postings.

Granted the thread did run a bit astray, but there is still some tie
to RFI because
if RFI is an issue with these new bulbs then they may be disposed of in a way
that is not environmentally friendly. And the push to use these
devices that cause
potential RFI issues in order to reduce the "carbon footprint" raises
a lot of RFI
issues as well as the resulting underlying science of global
warming. The entire
field of RFI can be lumped into the general topic of the
environmental and global
warming is one of the key environmental issues of our time.

The posting by W6YN, which is apparently the one to which you took
exception, is
one of the most lucid and brief summaries of the current state of the
debate on
global warming that I have seen. You certainly had every right to
delete it, and you
have every right to just go away. And I guess in this world you also
have the right to
be vulgar and insult everyone on the reflector if you so choose and
then go away.

But my reading is that somehow your beliefs were challenged in such a way as
to make you feel uncomfortable. Or maybe you just can't handle the
pursuit of the
truth on a very critical environmental issue of our time.

That is certainly your prerogative and I was curious to see just what
the RFI reflector
will lose by your departure. I save any RFI posting that has ANY
relavent technical
content and have done so since late 2004. When I reviewed that
folder I found nothing
that you may have posted that I have saved. Possibly you have
posted during this
period under a different email name/address, but it appears that your
departure is
not a great loss to the group.

If you want to debate your scientific and/or political views for a
discussion on the
technical merits of the state of global warming or any issue for that
matter I am
happy to do so in private emails -- I wouldn't want to offend anyone
else on the
reflector. I just hope that you will be civil in any discussions
that we might have.

I also have friends who are social workers and can point you to some good
anger-management courses if that will help you in any way.
