I wouldn't be so quick to blame the top loader you just bought. S-5 RFI
every 15 kc sounds like horizontal sweep noise from a nearby TV. Actually
horizontal sweep is 15.75 kc and very rich in harmonic content combined with
a poorly shielded TV causes back feed into the cable system and even the A/C
circuit. Nasty stuff for sure.

interference across 17m and 20m every 15 khz. Seems they are now
putting front load technology (computer/switcher) in top load
washers. The clue is if the washer will only accept HD detergent.
