Hi Jim,

The thing I find most interesting about this video is the ability of Fair-Rite to actually tailor the finished items to a task so exactly.

Speaking of tailoring items to a task-- my vendor had a 20% off sale last week and I bought a pile of FT240-31 devices. I'm going to go wind a few chokes for this antenna season early! :)

Thanks for the expansion on the devices in the video!

73s and thanks,
Dave

Thanks Dave. I also got the email.

Note that these are designed for power, and that 79 and 80 are MnZn materials, so they exhibit dimensional resonance.

67 is NiZn, so probably exhibits no dimensional resonance. It's a better material than 61 above about 10 MHz for high power inductive components, including transformers.

Fair-Rite does not consider 79, 80, or 67 useful for suppression, and from the looks of their u' and u'' curves, it's easy to see why.

Note also that the power components being discussed in the video are intended for use in circuits like SMPS.

covers a few of the materials they offer.
