[RTTY] ARRL RR drops DX SO plaques this year

I noticed this in the rules for 2001, and I see plaques only awarded to DX
for multi-op LP and HP.  Last year they also gave them to single-op LP and
HP DX.  Anyone know why they decided to drop the single-op DX plaques?  They
mentioned that unsponsored plaques can be purchased, so it surely wasn't a
financial decision.  Any comments?  I hate to see anything that would
discourage DX from participating in this contest!  73
