What are all you guys using for RTTY contesting amps ? Santa is going to
bring VE1OP a late xmas present... I have an AL811 with 4 x 811A tubes, but keep blowing tubes, resistors and capacitors..I suspect this amp is not sturdy enough for the rigours of a full weekend of RTTY ?? Or the tubes aren't tough enough ? I try to keep it within spec, especially on RTTY... Are there other amps/tubes that better fit RTTY contesting ? I don't need a kilowatt, just 500-800 watts is plenty... And yes, I know a 87A would do the trick, but I'd like to be able to afford to eat after I buy a new amp... Any suggestions ? Thanks, GL in RU and Happy New Year to all... Scott VE1OP _______________________________________________ RTTY mailing list RTTY@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rtty |
