Joe,
Thanks for the info

RXM_SWITCH (MMTMSG_SETSWITCH) is a programming interface in XMMT.ocx
that allows the calling application (e.g. logger) to read/set the
buttons on the MMTTY control panel. It is documented in the XMMT.ocx
and in the MMT.ocx ("TNC Mode") programmer's material - I know it
permits access to and control over AFC and NET however, the MMT.ocx
documentation also indicates it provides access to:
b0-b1 Modem type 0-IIR, 1-FIR, 2-PLL
b2 AFC
b3 NET
b4 ATC
b5 BPF
b6 LMS/Notch
b7 SQ
b8 Rev
b9 UOS
b10-b11 AFC shift algorithm
b12 Integrator 0-FIR, 1-IIR
b13 LMS/Notch 0-LMS, 1-Notch
b14 0-single notch, 1-two notches
b16 Word warp
b17-b18 Way to send 0-Char, 1-Word, 2-Line
It seems that 60 Hz off frequency when I am running in AFSK puts me
into the guy next to me. Not nice.
60 Hz is only 1/3 of the shift - you can't possible work that close to
another station.

And those of us with the nice Flex radios are stuck in AFSK. Since there
is an interface to control NET (used by N1MM), perhaps Writelog's
Xmmt.ocx can exploit that. Although I have never used it, does the "This
is the Run Station" on the Radio menu inform Writelog of what the
operator intends to do?
Joe, tell me more about the "RXM_Switch command"

Net only applies to AFSK and I don't want the transmit frequency
moving +/-
60 Hz when AFSK is used and Net cannot be turned off.

But, not everyone uses F1/F11 for CQ. I use F2, for example. I'd
prefer the logger not force a specific Fn key to be CQ.
I doubt that would be a serious problem ... even if a %x
command were developed to turn off Net and allow the user to
decide when it should be disabled.
Net ON is an issue for me because I don't want my Run
frequency moving
around +/- 60 Hz. OTOH, if one zero-beats the desired station, it
won't matter.

I'm still of the belief that FSK should be preferred in any
case as I've heard too many simply atrocious AFSK signals.

On the other hand, G3YYD has previously suggested that
software using
2Tone use the RXM_Switch command to turn off Net when calling CQ
(F1/F11 in Writelog). That could easily be complemented
by turning
Net ON if the transmit frequency changes by more than 500
Hz or 1KHz.
That would result in Net OFF when running (call CQ, Net
goes off) and
Net ON when in S&P or jumping frequency to grab a multiplier.
Yes, if/when this function is implemented in WriteLog. But, not
everyone uses F1/F11 for CQ. I use F2, for example. I'd
prefer the
logger not force a specific Fn key to be CQ.
In any case, Net ON/OFF is not a significant issue since
2Tone limits
the AFC range to not more than about 50 or 60 Hz (depending on
version) from the preset Mark (or Space).
Net ON is an issue for me because I don't want my Run
frequency moving
around +/- 60 Hz. OTOH, if one zero-beats the desired station, it
won't matter.
