As I recall, the RF gain pot is really touchy and has little range
at the top, then drops off very quickly.  Not easy to adjust in
the one I had.  Perhaps a log taper pot should go in where there
is a linear taper pot.  But I agree, that is a good simple solution
to the bandnoise during QSK, it can really help the ears.
