Bob,
  I'll add my two cents.  I have gotten several reports of "Gosh, your audio 
sure sounds great.  What mic are you using?"  I'd guess over five years 
that's happened 50 times; no foolin'.  I'm using the stock Ten-Tec 705 
microphone.
