This is an important point, even for us non-cultists :-)
There is at least one of the manual selling websites that offers to
copy Ten Tec manuals for a price after being asked not to do so by Ten
Tec. I found the website had disguised its offering of Ten Tec manuals
by using various names. I was a bit disconcerted by this.
I've sometimes copied manuals for friends in need (for free), and I
know Ten Tec does not oppose this, but I think I'll recommend just
buying from one from Ten Tec in the future. If it was my business, I'd
like to sell my own manuals.

Think about how well Ten*Tec supports the amateur community. Consider
that
frequently they will just ship you some small part for free because
it's too
much trouble to create an invoice and process it. Try and order ANY
small
parts from the other ham manufacturers that is more than a few years
old.
In the long run, it's probably in our best interest to let them make a
few
bucks by selling a manual. The ham who buys one gets his or her money
back
in the end with a higher resale value anyway.
Keep in mind that I am a cultist though. Your mileage may vary.
