Thanks Dave - yes this works fine for individual emails,
however I (and I suspect many others) like to receive digests
which normally contain 12 or more posts in one email. 
In this case, the filter does not work.

        You can just set that up in your email rules.
        For me, if it says ORION, it goes to the deleted items folder. But
you
        can just as easy create a new folder called ORION, and have
everything with
        those words go there.
