People will tell you that the Argosy II has no RF gain control and will POP
when hit by a strong signal. I've had one for about 18 years and wouldn't
trade it for all the TS830's you could load into a boxcar. I like mine a
lot.
On the other hand, a friend just sold his Argosy II and bought an Argonaut V
(I think that's what it's called) which he reports he likes better.
