Lee: I think we will both be getting our O II's at the about the same time.
The sales department told me last week that the next production run will start
shipping mid February. That's just 2.5 weeks...and I thought I was getting too
old to feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!
I have already rebuilt and rewired my shack with a big 17" open spot where the
Orion will sit...right next to the Ten Tec Titan 425 linear and the matching
238 antenna tuner. Yesterday I finished wiring a control box that will
automatically control my remote antenna switch with the band-data output. This
will be the first radio I have had with that feature.

I had the original Orion, seemed to me the tuning was great!
Smooth feel, nice heavy knob. Nice feature=with one button press it switches
to a higher speed tuing so you can go up/down real fast, then hit the switch
again and your back to normal speed... NEET!
I have Collins, Drake, Yaesu 857, had a 746PRO, The Orion is every bit as
good as they are. Of course all radios work a little different. As an example
the
Collins tuning is, well a spiritual experience! Not better, just different.
I am expecting the OII soon! I expect it will be as good or even better than
OI as it has a faster CPU
I loved the Orion or I wouldn't have traded in for an OII.

Lee, KC9CDT
