Both of my 564's do it, the lamp remains plenty bright. It has to do with the method Ten Tec uses to dim/brighten the lamp. Check the list archives. A loose or oxidized DC power connector can also cause the lamp to dim or brighten on it's own, some deoxit can be the quick cure.
