I have not yet gone to the "new" firmware, just looking at what is said on
here. It hasn't been much, so far!! I don't care for the NR on any of the
versions I have seen, either with my original Orion or the O2. It just
seems to add distortion, with no assistance on noise at all. I never went
back further than 1.372 on the Orion, so don't know about the earlier
versions. I have had little success with my line noise and the NB either.
I get excellent SSB audio reports on the O2, just like I did on the original
one, but do have much different settings than what I used to run on the
Orion. I do have to run the mic gain high, in the neighborhood of 59 or so,
so I will look into the pot under the rig as suggested. Do you think the
download is worth the trouble?
