Maybe it should be simply stated that processing allows the audio 
gain to be run much higher, thereby bringing up all the background 
noise including the amplifier blower, whether distorted or not.
This can be verified by watching the S-meter and noticing NO level 
drop during pauses in speech.... just loud background noise.  If 
nothing else, it's annoying.
