"H" range slugs must be low-volume production these days. Wow, $155!

Subject: [TenTec] Bird Wattmeter Slug Repair
I have a 250W 2-30 Mhz. slug for my Model 43 Wattmeter that suddenly
quit working. Called Bird to see what their policy on repair was. They
said to send it in (filled out a repair request on line
(www.bird-technologies.com) and then they emailed me a Repair order
number (RMA number). Sent in the slug at my expense and will have to
pay return shipping. They advised me yesterday - a 10 day turn around -
that a NEW slug will be sent to me and the cost is $ 50.
They will repair or replace any slug, no matter how old - mine was a
real old one - for a flat fee of $50. I think that is a great deal,
especially since new 250H's are going for $155 !
Just thought I would pass this on in case you have any Bird slugs that
don't work at all, or need repair.
