Same here, and same result. I am the one who started the thread. 
However, I should point out that when it started, we were talking about 
the O2.
I am now quite convinced that for everyday CW DXing, the AGC serves no 
purpose. I consistently have better readability by turning it off, then 
preamp on, RF gain low/audio high, and at least a little attenuation on 
40-160m. I only use digital NR when I am desperate, but the HW noise 
blanker is great.
That, together with pretty good conditions, got me 5 new ones this weekend.
