Well, after a week or so of use, that's the first time I've seen that
particular manifestation of the red screen. What I usually see is the white
trace erasing completely, leaving just the red trace for one sweep. I
managed to catch it in the act here:

That's what I thought we were talking about. But I now see it's much worse.

Jim: That's exactly what I am seeing and what I believe has been described
by others. The 'spectrum trace' red (which is a peak-hold trace) is all
you're supposed to see and is one of the improvements over the previous
versions.
