Yes...of course.   I have mentioned this Pin 2 in all my postings in 
this thread.
My question is whether I can route the voltage away from that pin, to a 
replacement 3-pole phone jack  without causing any issues.  I would just 
solder a little jumper wire to the "ring" terminal on a 1/8 inch stereo 
jack, to convert the jack from a mono jack for dynamic elements, to a 
stereo jack for electret elements.     What I don't know is whether 
routing/diverting the voltage from Pin 2 like this will cause some 
unforeseen problems elsewhere in the circuit.
In other words, I was asking if doing this was a bad idea for some 
reason I am too ignorant to foresee !
