Dunno why people always try to speculate more out of a message than what the
originator put into it.
My guess (and I have absolutely no information on this, just a guess):
<> Double-Eagle RX

<> Orion Features for most other stuff, addressing all of the complaints
people had about the Eagle, such as not enough filter slots, no band
stacking register, etc.
I'm sure they can tweak another few dB of DR out of it, though it is already
good enough.
NOW HERE'S WHAT WOULD BE GREAT: Offer it with a single RX and an optional
2nd RX, with a field-upgrade from 1x to 2x RX if someone wants to order it
later. Seemed to work great for Elecraft!
"Modular" is key to having a successful product.
The customer pays for what he wants and needs (or for what he can afford
right now), but is not stuck with his decision forever.

What they did say:

Seems pretty clear and simple to me.
