The water I used was collected rain water; I also tried tap water at one stage, but results between the two were indistinguishable. The line is still set up waiting for some heavy rain - I'm interested to see what happens *during* rainfall.

Ice and snow will have to wait a while :)

Steve, I am wondering about the water used in the ladderline testing. Was it sourced from common rain water, city (treated) water sourced from wells or surface water, or untreated well water? Each has a different pH and each will have a difference of conductivity depending on suspended dirt, minerals, or organic material in the water. Even rain water has wide variations due to the dirt in it as it falls, collected rain water even more so as it washes the dirt off the the surfaces it falls on or runs over.
