You might try checking and cleaning the 10mtr xtal socket.

Tnx so very much for trying to help. The jumper was installed inside
by TenTec when the rig was made. The display changing to 9 MHZ only
happens on the 10 mtr bands..
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
