Unless you physically break the internal parts, there is little reason to 
replace them. Just disassemble the thing, clean everything that moves, and 
reassemble with light application of a good modern lubricant.
If your brass main shaft is worn beyond use, I can make those. I have raw stock 
and simply lather turn the groove where the balls ride and then cut to proper 
length.
