Ken,
I have only seen the warning in the TenTec
manuals for the OMNI-A/C/D, Delta, Argosy, and
Corsair family that use the plastic enclosed
rotary switches. I vaguely recall something about
washing away the special lubricants that were
originally in the switches.
I have never shied away from using DeOxit on any
of the connectors or controls on TenTec gear, or
any boatanchor. I was hoping to find out what the
TenTec service technicians or others may have
used successfully on these switch elements.
As a last resort, I may use DeOxit on the wafers
and use compressed air to blow away the residual, as Gary suggested.
