I have not done extensive experimentation to try to determine how close a
Beverage can be placed to a tower or transmitting antenna, but I can share
some anecdotal experience.
When I first tried Beverage antennas, I placed them in the vicinity of my
towers. The distances from the towers varied from 50-150 feet. I was
very disappointed in the relatively poor patterns of those Beverages.
Since that experience I've tried to keep my Beverages as far away as
possible from transmitting antennas and towers. Most of my Beverages are
300 to 400 feet or more from the towers and their performance is
dramatically improved. Perhaps some of the other Beverage users can
comment on their experiences with pattern degradation from nearby towers
and transmitting antennas.
The good news is that Beverage antennas are almost completely invisible to
one another! I try to keep mine 15-20 feet apart, and if they cross I try
to keep them 2 or 3 feet apart and keep the crossing angle as close to 90
degrees as possible.
