I'm new to this list and looking for some advice on a good antenna
for 160M in a suburban (CA) environment.

        I currently have an 80/40 trapped inverted V with a 40ft apex.
One friend suggested tying the feed line together at the base and feeding
this "T" against ground. Another friend says his "T" doesn't work well.
Can anyone verify the performance of this arrangement ???

One alternative I have right now is to try to do a vertical. An
possibility that intrigues me involves my other antenna. Its a Hy-Gain
DX77 vertical mounted on a 20ft steel mast. The DX77 is a trapped windom
vertical 29ft. long that covers 40-10M. I'm wondering whether its worthwhile
to try feeding the mast at the base and coupling the feedpoint of the
vertical to make one 49ft. contiguous vertical. Anyone tried anything
like this on 160M?

Winter's a coming and my Globe King 500 is hankerin for time on
1925kc.
