After reading the response from George and Tree on how to re-score your
log if you hadn't set the grid square in TRLog set me to thinking.....A new
strategy unfolds about where the optimum grid square is. Since propagation
varies dramatically on 160 even over 300 miles moving large distances is
not necessarily meaningful, but what about moving just one or two grid
squares away?
My home grid is DN17, and I'm surrounded by the following 8 grids;
DN08 DN18 DN28
DN07 DN17 DN27
DN06 DN16 DN26
My score for my particular QSO set was 1622 (based on TRLog 5.95),
recalculating my score for the other grids I get.
1654 1631 1624
1646 1622 1609
1638 1605 1599
Too early in the game to draw conclusions but with a few more years worth
of data I would expect for the real competitive stations to pick QTH's
which might give them at least statistically a slight advantage!!
