Let's not forget the ARRL has "established" a QRP SSB calling
frequency on 1910, in the JA window. Also the ARRL once published
(probably in error) a recommended digital frequency around 1826!
There was US to US Amtor on that frequency for a few nights until a
topbander in Chicago found a friend to monitor and decipher the calls.
The digital users then (fortunately) moved down below 1820, and
ultimately went back to 40 meters.
Also, in a CW contest weekend, the ARRL typically keeps their 1818 CW
machine running whether they sponsor the contest or not. Same thing
on 40 in the DX SSB allocation during both the ARRL and CQ WW DX
contests.
I would just like to point out that what ever is done must force some
recoordination and intelligent frequency recommendations for the 160
newcomers, and maybe best left until after the Japanese Loran station
goes away (later this year?) and the JA version of the FCC/PTT
allocates some JA's access to a lower frequency in the 1825-1830
range.
Otherwise, let's just get the 1910 recommendation and similar items
cleaned off the books.
