When you listen to all the bands in the contest you know cw is not dead! Lots
of good operators.
My dx list here won't be very long. Did work GW7J and CT3/OH1MA - only EU
heard. Heard 5V7A but no joy - did work him last year. Conditions to the
Pacific were not good - could not work VK3AJJ who is usually s9 here. One new
one was
J39A. I hardly ever work a dupe. Thought I had worked J39A earlier but
decided since it was a new one to try again when he was louder and easier -
and he didn't say qso before - so the first "qso" was no good, and the
insurance qso paid off.
I'll show up with some busted calls, w8lr, w6lr, w7la, w7rr, etc - some qsls I
won't have to answer! In the fierce pileups there isn't much chance to
correct your call.
10 meters was pretty good - even had my only run - not being a big gun - to JA
15 and 20 meters to Europe and Africa was easy. I was glad to join my wife
for happy hour after the contest. 73 Bob W7LR Montana
