Merry X-mas and Happy New Year!
Not much to be reported here except yesterday (Dec. 25) there was opening
to US. Very well heard were signals from N7UA (1534z, 559) and K9JF/7 (wkd,
1554z, also 559). Joerg (YB1AQS) and I kept calling CQ since 1200z but
none heard during our sunset until I went to bed at 1730z. I was lucky to
be able to get up in 2100z and returned to the band. No EU heard. When
almost "desperate" to call CQ on 1824, at 2137z came Brett, VR97BG with
559. He gave me a NEW one on top band. In his e-mail msg to me, he explains
his plan to improve his 160m vertical antenna, soon. Let's hope for his
come back and gud cndx for many top banders to get a NEW one, too!
