Milt, N5IA's comments about properly crossing wide, deep chasms with
Beverages are very interesting, indeed.

I have a very steep site in a redwood canyon, with limited runs
available. I currently am re-installing a 400 footer, half on a
neighbor's property--best I can do. There are steep gradients, but no
spans as large as described by Milt. My first Bevs scrupulously followed
the terrain, but I now feel that, unless the variations are significant
w.r.t. a wavelength, as addressed by Milt, it averages out, and I allow
the height to vary from six feet to 11 (over the road) to 15 to 20
(crossing a small ravine.) The average slope is probably near 30
degrees!

I have nothing to compare to, except a qualitative memory of its
predecessors. But the fellow who said "any Beverage is better than no
Beverage" hit the nail right on the head.
