Gentlemen:
If you remember the W2PV and similar modelling efforts, I believe it shows
grounding an element to the boom will effectively shorten the length of
parasitic elements maybe 1 to 1.5 inches 92.5 to 4 cm) depending on
geometry. One will get the top loading, but may have to typically lengthen
each half of a paracitic element about 0.6 inches (1.5cm)
