Many thanks to all for the prolific comment I have received on the above.
There were one or two folks who said I should give the sloper a miss, but
most said I should try it. The general concensus is that radials are
important under the mast, and so is a yagi on top.
Since I have the latter, I will add a couple of radials and give it a try,
probably this weekend. One advantage of this QTH is that I am 2 and a half
feet above a suphurous water table, and have a salt water lagoon 400 yards
away. Hope to CU all soon on 160.
