That's true, it would take an extended period of little in the way of
magnetic disturbances to QSO on the true short path over the pole on 160.
The SE-S signal skewing is the result of the transmitted signal taking the
propagation path of least resistance/absorption on a longer lower latitude
path, away from proton absorption and the higher gyro frequency absorption.
