This morning beginning at about 0515 a number of very strong stations
were heard/worked. EU/RA/UA3, UT, SP, HA, SM,OH, F,CT, LZ,LA, DJ,ON,
all had excellent signals, some 589/599 for very long periods of time
with rapid fade QSB at times. I was surprised that more W/K stations
were not in on the "feast" but the propagation may have been more
northerly as I heard only one K4 calling during the hour spent on the
band.
I would classify this the best opening to Ontario this year...in fact,
in a couple of years, particularly with the Russian stations and
particularly with the strength of the signals and the length of time
they remained at good levels.
